Applesauce Cheddar Biscuits

(these were at the Pet Pictures with Santa event)
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine the cheddar, applesauce, and water in a small bowl. Combine the flour and oatmeal in a large bowl. Pour the cheese and applesauce mixture into the dry ingredients and mix. Knead into a dough and turn out into a floured surface. Roll dough to about 1/4-inch thickness and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake for 20 minutes.

Biscuit Baking Tip: Use a pizza cutter to cut a pan of cooked treats into small pieces for training or score treats before baking.

Bakes 16 festive holidog muffins
2 tablespoons honey
2 3/4 cups water
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
½ cup chopped peanuts
4 cups whole-wheat four
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a bowl, mix together honey, water, applesauce, vanilla, and egg. Ina separate bowl, mix peanuts, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir, mixing well. Spoon into a greased muffin tin, filling each cup 2/3 full. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool an store in a sealed container.

Makes 12 stroke-of-midnight scrumptious snacks
2 tablespoons honey
2 3/4 cups water
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 cups whole-wheat four
1 cup dried apple chips
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350°F/ Om a bowl, mix together honey, water, applesauce, vanilla, and egg. Combine flour, apple chips, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a separate bowl and mix thoroughly. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well, scraping sides and bottom of bowl to be sure no dry mixture is left. Spoon into greased muffin pans so that each cup is 3/4 full and bake for approximately 1 hour. Cool and store in a sealed container.
